Historic Hotel Lewis

Dedicated in 1898, the historic Hotel Lewis a landmark property in northwest Iowa and is located in the heart of downtown Cherokee. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Lewis has a rich heritage of hospitality and service to its residents, guests, and businesses. The Hotel Lewis offers premier residences, accommodations, and services in a dynamic and revitalized downtown setting. 2024 is a milestone with the Hotel Lewis commemorate its 125th year.

The capstone of the Hotel’s rebirth is the completion of a three-year renovation project following its purchase by Zoul Properties in 2021. Since that time, all of the residential and commercial spaces have been renovated and the exterior of the Hotel has been restored along with the spacious Grand Lobby. The Lewis features a mix of uses including residential, lodging, business suites, commercial, and the infamous event space – The Cellar.
